Forgive the lack of information. The days have been spent driving, rocking, sleeping, and repeating. With seven band members, most of which are myspace fiends, it's hard to keep all our journals, sites, and myspaces updated.

So far all the gigs have been awesome! I've been keeping a log with notes to rememer so that I can post an update when there's some down time. It's almost time for my shower. We hadn't had one in about two days and Steve was practically in tears. Obviously he's never been camping. :) We're halfway through our gigs now, four done and four to go!

So the first day went without a hitch. We got on the plane with all our gear, no hassles, and everything went perfectly. Our dad showed up in a uber PIMP RV. I'll take a bunch of pictures. Tonight we're hangin out after eating some Lou Malnati's Pizza and having a beer just resting and playing card/video games. Tomorrow morning we head out to Minnesota for our first gig.

We also went to Tanuta's in Kenosha, Wisconsin. (We're stayin at our dad's house tonight in Zion IL, which is right on the border of IL and WI.) Oh yeah, if you didn't know, our dad is driving us for the tour! Bitchin.

Anyhow, I'm not certain how often I'll be able to check emails, but thank you for all the kind words and support!

You may or may not know this but I'm REALLY into supporting the local economy by purchasing products made by local businesses. When I go grocery shopping I like to look at the label to see where it's made, and I pick whatever's closest to our state.

THAT BEING SAID. A great NEW local goth/fetish/rivethead store opened up in TEMPE, ARIZONA on the South East corner of McKlintock and University Rd called FESTISH FALLS. They have all kinds of amazing custom-made swirly colorful goth hair thingies, and many other gothic/industrial accessories.

Currently FETISH FALLS IS THE ONLY RETAIL STORE IN ARIZONA that has every Strand CD stocked and FOR SALE! That includes our latest Destroyers release, and all three other Strand CDs. We are doing this intentionally to help awareness of this brand new local business! Go check out their store, it's very cool!

Thanks,
-Dave Strand

My gf and I went out to dinner and a movie tonight. Was quite a nice occasion, went to BJ's Brewery and then saw the new Jackie Chan, Jet Li movie. Actually, I wasn't expecting much, but this movie was thoroughly enjoyable. I highly recommend it.

Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Michael Angarano
The Forbidden Kingdom

Side note: I can't seem to fall back asleep..

..

Oh! Also, I picked up the Star Trek comic books with Jean-Luc Picard. 'Intelligent Design' I think the series is called. It's pretty good. I haven't bought a comic book for a long time, so I picked one up and it's been good cheap entertainment. Also picked up the Serenity comic book for my gf.

She's funny.
Hell of a gig last night with Bella Lune, Brian Botkiller and Vertigo Venus!! Our band had fun as usual, with a variety of new and innovative technical difficulties for The Strand, but we muscled thru it! It's funny how apparent little glitches are to the band, when most the crowd is oblivious and content. Also, considering it was a Sunday night and we went on after midnight, we still had a crap-load of insanely energetic fans up there rockin out with us. All in all, a great gig.

Now, the band gets a couple weeks to relax and pack their bags for our upcoming tour!

Well, except for Scott who is flying out to Germany tomorrow on a 3 week European vacation!
Okay so I had no idea that Robert Wuhl was such an amazing teacher. I suppose teaching is similar to acting. Anyhow, this is really funny if you have the time check it out. It examines pop-culture and history.

<lj-embed id="21" />

NIN Releases new album under Creative Commons Act..

NIN has released a slew of new songs, most of which are instrumental. It's pretty cool because you have several options for purchasing, and it sounds like he's also in favor of a direct connection to the fans. My understanding is that he is no longer under any record label, which allows him to pretty much do whatever he wants. Read more at my favorite source for industrial news, ReGen News.

....................

In other news, I finished The Strand's new album last night. 14 tracks with a LOT of variety between the songs. Some are funny, some are angry, some are slow, and one is produced by my new alter-ego, TimbaStrand. Now I need to send it for mastering at NR Mastering, and then off to the the presses once the graphics are finalized. There's a good possibility that the CD will be pressed and ready for our April 13th show.

April 13th show...
